Security
Does Angel Reminder store my passwords?
No. Angel Reminder is deliberately not a password vault. You only record the information that an account, subscription or contract exists and where your loved ones should look – never the password itself. They handle access in an emergency through the official, legally sound route. And your own login password is stored only as a non-reversible hash, never in plain text.
Why not a password vault?
Storing passwords would be a high security and liability risk – and it scares many people off. We take the calmer path: it's enough to know that something exists and where to start. That way your account stays secure and your loved ones are still not left in the dark.
Privacy & GDPR
Where is my data kept?
On servers in Germany, processed in line with the GDPR. Your details don't quietly leave the house – we do not share them with third parties for advertising purposes.
Am I being tracked?
No. No advertising, no tracking, no third-party analytics pixels. Privacy is not fine print for us, it's part of the product. You'll find the details in our privacy policy.
Who receives my information in an emergency?
Only the trusted contacts you have chosen yourself – and only the content you have assigned to them. You decide who gets what.
How it works
What is a "dead man's switch"?
The principle is simple and human: as long as you're alive and respond to our reminders regularly, nothing happens. Only if you stop responding for good does your prepared message reach the right people. Explained in full on how it works.
What happens if I forget to respond once?
Nothing rash. The fail-safe is multi-stage: you receive several reminders over days and weeks before anything is delivered at all. A single missed check-in triggers nothing.
How do I check in?
With one click. At the interval you choose, we ask whether everything is fine – confirming is all it takes.
Can I change or delete my data at any time?
Yes. You can adjust content, contacts and intervals at any time, or delete everything completely. You always have the final say.
Pricing
What does Angel Reminder cost?
You can start free forever – including notes, trusted contacts, check-in & fail-safe and the free organ donor card. Premium costs €29 a year and offers more notes, more contacts and more flexible intervals. All the details on the pricing page.
Can I cancel Premium at any time?
Yes, anytime. There's no minimum term beyond the current year.
Does Angel Reminder replace a will?
No. Angel Reminder is organisational help – an inventory of where things are – and does not replace a will or a notarised estate plan.
