Check-in
In short: With the check-in you regularly confirm “I'm fine”. As long as you do that, everything stays private with you. If you stop responding for the period you set, the delivery of your notes is triggered.
The check-in is the mechanism that makes Angel Reminder a “dead man's switch”. It ensures that your notes are delivered exactly when – and only when – you really can no longer check in.
How the check-in works
At regular intervals Angel Reminder reminds you by email. You confirm your check-in with one click. Even a normal login to the app already counts as a check-in – so you don't have to do anything extra if you're stopping by anyway.
The interval
How often you need to check in is up to you, via the interval in your profile. Choose a period that suits your everyday life – long enough that you don't have to confirm constantly, but short enough that not too much time passes in an emergency.
What happens if you don't respond
If you stop responding beyond your set interval, Angel Reminder assumes that the emergency has occurred and delivers your notes to your recipients. This automatic delivery is only active with Premium. On the free plan you can prepare everything, but the triggering itself does not take place.
